Dens & Patrols

Overview

Subunits help you organize scouts into smaller groups — dens for Cub Scout packs and patrols for Scouts BSA troops. Each subunit can have an assigned leader.

Required role: Administrator or Leader

Creating a Den or Patrol

  1. Go to Membership → Dens/Patrols from the main navigation
  2. Click Add Den or Add Patrol (label depends on your unit type)
  3. Enter a name (e.g., “Bear Den”, “Eagle Patrol”)
  4. Optionally assign a den/patrol leader
  5. Click Save

  • Send communications to their group

Tips

  • Scouts can belong to only one den/patrol at a time
  • Moving a scout to a different den/patrol updates distribution lists automatically
  • Communication distribution lists auto-update when membership changes
  • You can have as many dens/patrols as needed
