Granting Awards
Overview
When a scout has completed all requirements for a rank, merit badge, or adventure, you can grant the award. Scout Manager also supports quick-complete for situations where you want to grant an award without individually signing off every requirement.
Required role: Administrator, Leader, or Awards Coordinator
Granting an Award (Requirements Complete)
When all requirements for an award are signed off, the award is ready to grant:
- Open the scout’s advancement dashboard
- The completed award will show a Grant Award button
- Click it and confirm the date earned
- The award is recorded
Quick-Complete
Sometimes you need to record an award without signing off each requirement individually (e.g., a scout transferred in with a completed merit badge):
- Open the scout’s advancement dashboard
- Find the award (rank, merit badge, or adventure)
- Click the Quick Complete action
- Enter the date earned
- Click Save
This marks the award as granted without requiring individual requirement sign-offs.
Editing Award Dates
If an award was recorded with the wrong date:
- Open the scout’s advancement dashboard
- Find the granted award
- Click the date next to the award
- Enter the correct date
- Click Save
Award Ceremony Reports
Once awards are granted, you can generate reports for your ceremony:
- What to Buy — list of awards that need to be purchased
- What to Distribute — list of awards ready to hand out at your next ceremony
Navigate to Advancement → Award Reports to generate these.
Tips
- Quick-complete is great for transfers and historical data entry
- Award dates affect rank progression calculations
- The ceremony reports filter by date range so you can see just what’s new since your last ceremony
