Financial Reports
Overview
Scout Manager provides several financial reports to help treasurers manage the unit’s finances, report to committees, and provide transparency to families.
Required role: Treasurer or Administrator
Available Reports
Treasurer Summary
A high-level overview of the unit’s financial health:
- Total assets (checking, savings, cash)
- Total liabilities
- Net balance
- Income this period
- Expenses this period
- Comparison to prior period
Navigate to Accounting → Reports → Treasurer Summary.
Scout Ledger Report
A per-scout transaction history showing every charge and payment:
- Date, description, and amount of each transaction
- Running balance
- Current balance due (or credit)
Navigate to Accounting → Reports → Scout Ledger.
Useful for:
- Sharing with parents (“here’s what you owe and why”)
- Reconciling at year-end
- Audit trail for committee review
Income/Expense Report
A breakdown of all income and expenses by category for a date range:
- Total income by category (dues, fundraisers, donations, etc.)
- Total expenses by category (camping, awards, supplies, etc.)
- Net income (income minus expenses)
Navigate to Accounting → Reports → Income/Expense.
Report Options
All reports support:
- Date range filter — see a specific time period
- Print — print-friendly layout
- Export — download for spreadsheet use
Tips
- Run the Treasurer Summary monthly for committee meetings
- The Scout Ledger is useful when parents ask “what do I owe?”
- Income/Expense report helps with annual budget planning
- All reports respect role-based access — parents see only their own family’s data
